The Electronics & Communication Engineering Department of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Surat was established as a preliminary department of the institute in 2017. Initially, the department has started to offer B.Tech. programme and now it is extended to offer Ph.D. programme also. The department has qualified and experienced faculty members with teaching and research experience in various domains of Electronic and Communication Engineering such as Communication Engineering, Internet of Things, Electromagnetics, VLSI, Robotics, RF & Microwave Engineering, Signal and Image Processing etc.

The department has presently two labs equipped with State-of-Art hardware and software facilities dedicated for delivering the proper practical knowledge to the students. Along with that, the students of the department have involved in various activity clubs that are helpful for their overall development.
